Open Daily: 8:00am–Dusk
Turkey Hill Disc Golf Course is an 18-hole course located just minutes north of La Plata. Built at Turkey Hill Park, the course meanders through the entire perimeter of this 70 acre facility and takes advantage of the natural contours and features of the property. Its unique design was a collaboration between Charles County and the Southern Maryland Disc Golf Club and has received extremely high praise from disc golfers throughout the region. The design focus was to develop a course that could offer challenging play for the advanced disc golfer while at the same time providing a fun experience for recreational play.
Turkey Hill is a top-notch course that includes a balanced mix of open and wooded holes, has multiple pin placements (Innova DisCatcher Pro baskets), full-sized concrete tee pads and professional tee signs on both short and long tees. THDGC features two awesome water carries, several elevated tee pads, a nice combination of uphill and downhill shots and “The Hump” (an elevated basket location). Other amenities include: benches, directional signage, bridges, and restrooms.
What is Disc Golf?
Once known as “Frisbee Golf”, Disc Golf has evolved into one of the Nation’s fastest growing outdoor sports. It is similar to regular golf; however, instead of using golf clubs and balls and aiming for a hole, Disc Golf players use discs and aim for elevated chain-covered baskets. Starting at a designated tee, the object is to get your disc in the basket in the fewest number of throws. Disc Golf is a healthy activity that is inexpensive, easy to learn and fun for all ages.
